Twenty Minute Side Table

Could this be any cuter.  I saw this DIY table on the Making Home Base blog and knew I had to run, not walk, to Target for a hamper.  I did not find the exact base but one similar.
This is such an easy project.
I'll let the post above give the directions, after all Chelsea gets all the credit!!

Here is the wood round I bought it's 18 inches across.  Purchased at Lowe's.  I used Minwax Provincial stain.  I used a foam brush to apply the stain and quickly wiped it off section by section.  It makes for a lighter finish and dries super quickly.

Here is the Circo hamper from the kids department $19.99 at Target

Here is the stained top on the base

Here is the table in the room all finished.

Campus Book Rentals and Rent Back

Do you have a teen on their way off to college or maybe your taking classes yourself? The first stop is the the bookstore for your class textbooks. I remember books being so expensive and they weren't even brand new.

Campus Book Rentals offers a great new program, renting textbooks, the books you own to other students and you make money in the process. www.RentBack.com

Renting textbooks can save you a lot of money, and is a far superior alternative to buying your books. You can rent your textbooks without the risk of your books becoming devalued by the end of the semester and of course, and you can easily rent them online. Over 1 million customers rent textbooks from Campus Books Rentals Rent Back program at over 5,800 college campuses across the nation.

How does renting textbooks work?

What is Rent back?
RentBack is new initiative that allows students to rent the textbooks they own - to other students... which is awesome because it makes them 2-4x more money compared to what they'd make through buyback options!

  Here are some additional perks!
save 40-90% off of bookstore prices
free shipping both ways
can highlight in the textbooks
flexible renting periods
we donate to Operation Smile with each textbook rented!

Operation Smile provides free surgeries to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities for children around the globe

So if educational books are in your future, Campus Book Rentals and their Rent Back program is something you should research, and it's two fold in helping you save money and supporting Operation Smile with every book rented!!  Campus Book Rentals is committed and keeping their partnership with Operation Smile and have committed to donate a minimum of 80 additional surgeries between June 2013 and June 2014!!

Green Giant™ Veggie Snacks

Green Giant™ Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips - yummy is all I can say!!

Brand new hot off the press are two delicious flavors of chips.  Roasted Veggie Tortilla *Garden Ranch* and Mulitgrain Sweet Potato *Barbecue*  there are two additional flavors too Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips in Zesty Cheddar and Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips with Sea Salt.

Green Giant isn't just for veggies any more, now they have chips and I was lucky enough to receive two bags to sample, and share with you, and ya know what they are great.  It's the perfect chip for entertaining with a dip or like we tried with Guacamole.  They are very flavorful and crisp.

Here are the chips in real life side by side.

Sweet potato on the left and Tortilla on the right

The Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips has a delicious taste of roasted bell peppers and ranch flavor!  They have 18 grams of Whole Grain, 0 grams of Trans Fat and made with real vegetables

While, the Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips has the delicious flavor of sweet potatoes and smoky barbecue!  They have 14 grams of Whole Grain, 0 grams of Trans Fat, made with Real Sweet Potatoes and they have 40% less fat than regular potato chips

We dipped into Guacamole and it was the perfect addition to the already flavorful chips.  You really don't need any dip though as they were so flavorful.  They both were super crunchy and the seasonings on them, giving them their unique flavor, are delicious.

Something else fun is they have the box tops for schools on the bags so if you have kiddos you can clip those and send them in with your kids!!

Don't forget to grab your coupon at the beginning of the post so you can try them to

Happy Snacking

Twelve Month Calendar Journal Box

Do you journal?  I have tried but just don't seem to finish the books.  I have great intentions where I plan to write every day, just a little something to remember days past. So here's what I came up with.  A Calendar Journal Box.

I made the box using my Ryobi Miter Saw and added the twine handles and stained it with Minwax stain.  I filled the box with 365 file cards and 12 dividers using my Dear Lizzy American Crafts paper. I stamped each date January 1, January 2, January 3 - and so on for all 365 days.

Now for the journaling part.  Each day you can pull that dates card and jot a short something down and stick it back behind the rest of the months cards.  Then continue all month, month after month and then when you finish all 365 days you start over. What's fun is you can look back and see what your note was from last year, and the years past, as you reach that date each year for each of the days of the year.
