A family cookbook

Do you have recipes collected in a box or filling up a drawer?  How about having them published into a cookbook.  If you plan ahead and gather what you have and contact other family members you could create a fantastic Holiday gift for next Christmas for everyone to enjoy.

Create a Family Cookbook!

It’s easy, fun and affordable to create and print your own family cookbook. Family cookbooks are an important way to preserve our mealtime traditions for future generations. With the passing of our loved ones comes the loss of treasured food traditions. Once the recipes are preserved online, they can be shared with other family members by email, individual printed recipes or your own professionally printed cookbook.

highlights

  • Create a full color family cookbook – it’s easy and fun!
  • Invite family and friends to enter recipes and stories (you don’t have to do all the work!)
  • It’s a family heirloom that will be treasured for generations
  • Great for family reunions, wedding gifts and groups
  • Works great on PCs, Macs and iPads
  • Choose recipe layouts, covers, dividers and more (1000s of combinations)
  • Upload your own photos for recipes, covers & dividers, too
  • Print to your PC, a local printer like Kinko’s or have our professional team print for you
  • Have a Kindle or iPad? You can put your cookbook on that, too!

Have you heard of Mollie Makes Magazine?  If you have not seen the magazine you are in for a treat.  I have looked at it a few times on the newsstand and I finally bought a copy. Mollie Makes is a UK magazine so it's $11.99 here in the US.  But well worth the price.

Some issues have a gift packaged with the magazine - the issue I bought there was a covered button kit with fabric to embroider the cute designs.

You can also get your Mollie Makes on your iPad - woohoo  You download the app and then you can subscribe to 3-6 or 12 months on your iPad.  Here are some screen shots.

The magazine is full of decorating, crafts "Living and Loving Handmade"

Walgreens and Express Scripts what you need to know

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

For the past year, Walgreens has negotiated with Express Scripts for a new contract to continue as part of its pharmacy provider network. Those negotiations were unsuccessful, and the contract expired on Dec. 31. As a result, Walgreens is no longer part of Express Scripts’ pharmacy provider network as of Jan. 1, 2012. This includes all Walgreens pharmacies nationwide and Duane Reade pharmacies in the New York City area. The full article is here: Walgreens and Express Scripts

Many of these families and people have a relationship with their Walgreens pharmacist and are now having to go elsewhere. Some people are having to pay more and drive further to get their prescriptions refilled, in an effort to make things easier for those who use Express Scripts, Walgreens is working on "making this transition as smooth as possible and is doing all it can to help patients continue using Walgreens when possible, or take care of them as they are forced to leave Walgreens in order to use their in-network coverage."

One thing Walgreens is doing to help patients, is offering a special promotion in January on annual memberships for Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens

Among the steps Walgreens is taking to minimize the disruption is offering a special discount on annual membership for its Prescription Savings Club. An individual can join during a special January promotion for only $5, or $10 for a family membership, and receive savings on more than 8,000 brand name and all generic medications. More than 400 generics are available with a three-month supply for less than $1 a week. Regular annual membership is $20 for an individual and $35 for a family.
