This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Pfister for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Many families in America are living at or below the federal poverty line. The increasing cost of living and decreasing social service budgets leave our most vulnerable neighbors without the most basic of necessities: a warm, safe, and dry home.

Pfister is proud to partner with Rebuilding Together to bring safer and healthier homes to communities throughout the United States. Rebuilding Together is a nonprofit making the very much needed repairs to American's home that are low income home owners.  I know from my own home a few small fixes to necessary things can be very expensive.

Rebuilding Together started over 30 years ago, with an act of grassroots activism and community engagement in Midland, Texas. with the help of 3.4 million volunteers, Rebuilding Together has delivered over $1.3 billion in market value since it founding. They have worked on over 100,000 homes across the Nation.

Gathered Thoughts Linky Party {Smile}

I'm so excited to be participating in the Love Feast Tables
linky party called Gathered Thoughts.

I replied to a post and was chosen to receive 10 quote cards from one of these fabulous boxes. It's filled 365 Gathered Thoughts printed on handcrafted paper. Each quote or thought comes from different people around the world. Use this box to start conversation around the table or to inspire your day.

Quote cards bundled up

Here are the cards I received

I emailed and messaged a few friends who might like to participate and write a post about the quote card they received from me.  I sent cards on to

Jeanette with Sweet Jeanette
Ann-Margaret with Ann -Margarets Visions
and
Lauren with The Elephants Trunk

Please visit their blogs to read the quote they received from me and their "Gathered Thoughts"

I chose the quote below from the 10 cards mailed to me:

"Because of your smile,
you make life more beautiful."
~Thich Nhat Hanh

smile/smīl/

Verb:
Form one's features into a pleased, kind, or amused expression, typically with the corners of the mouth turned up: "smiling faces".
Such a small gesture which can change a persons day, both friends and even a strangers.  So often we are deep in thought and that shows on our faces.  When you make eye contact with someone who is deep in thought I imagine they might be caught off guard at a smiling face in front of them.  It's similar to a compliment from a stranger about something your wearing or maybe they like your hair.  This happens to me all the time.  I get stopped weekly, "Your hair is so cute where do you have it cut?"  The gal who cuts my hair loves me with all her new clients coming in.  Even though this is a regular occurrence it does make me smile.

I challenge you to pick a day and while you are out and about make eye contact with three strangers and smile, a real smile and maybe even say Hi!  See what happens, it might be contagious and they might share a smile with someone else too, making life more beautiful!

Dining Room Makeover

I'm excited to post about my new dining room.  It's still a work in progress but 90% completed.  I just hung the chevron curtains on Sunday and was then able to take pictures for my post here. Be sure to scroll down to the "before" you won't believe your eyes!

This view is from my entryway hall
The table is the same as the before photos below.  It's from Pottery Barn and the chairs before are a tan canvas and here I have the denim slipcovers on the them.  A much more casual look. There is one chair missing on the left, it's across the hall at the desk - LOL!

BEFORE!

Can you believe it's the same room?  Leopard wallpaper with a monkey border -  What was I thinking - it was 8 years ago and it was "in" so to speak.  You can see the tray ceiling below. The upper most part was painted a darker shade of taupe/peanut butter.  The new room is all one color Valspar Gravity!

Dresser re-do!

Here are the dressers before and after.
I used spray paint, I believe it's called Lagoon by Valspar.  It was so easy to spray them, it took 4 cans to cover both.  The dressers also have beautiful marble tops.

Funky Ikea pendant light

Chevron Curtains!
LOVE

I'm not showing the left of the room because it's a blank wall it's the other 10% not completed.  I'm also playing around with the paintings on the walls and perhaps adding a nice Hinkley lighting  fixture. I think I might even paint something abstract myself to hang.

More to come!!
