My Alisa Burke Original Artwork

I purchased these mini canvas' from Alisa Burks studio sale. I have taken several, well, lots of Alisa's classes and I was so excited to be given the opportunity to purchase originals that she showed in one of her blog posts,  Venturing outside my comfort zone.

Here is what I did with the photos which are now in my daughters new room, freshly made over into a sea/beachy retreat.

I used an IKEA Ribba frame and a piece of linen textured srapbook paper in an orange color and used glue dots to attach the mini canvas' to the paper.  I wanted to keep them together and I love the rough edges and the unfinished parts.  The 3x3 paintings are also a little wonky and not perfectly square but that's OK.  I love the way it turned out.

Saadia Faruqi recently started an online women's fashion store called Red Damask. They offer one of a kind designs in limited production which makes each item in the collection special because you won't see someone else with your unique design. Each piece is sewn in a small setting giving opportunities to women to provide for their families.

Red Damask also offers some unique things like custom tailoring enabling you to get the right fit or even special embroidery on a piece you like.

Saddia also has a great blog Red Damask Diary - chronicles of a fashion company CEO.  You can read about the behind the scenes and what's coming soon.
