Laundry Room Reveal Before & After

It's been in the making and now finally finished

The new and improved laundry room.  Now, I must say, the room is so tiny and when I open the door it actually just misses the washer so it's not deep and it's about 94 inches wide.  Just enough for a little space on either side of the washer and dryer.

I had some wood cut at Lowe's and I stained it to sit across the washer and dryer as a solid surface.  There are those yucky white shelves behind the yellow chevron curtain. I didn't want to take them down so I covered them up.

One of the reasons I wanted to have a cute room was because as you look up my stairs this room is at the top, and as you walk up the stairs you look right in the laundry room.  So, a cute washer and dryer were a must and a much needed cute room too.

Here is the before, yuck right? It was in the partial stages of getting ready to paint

Here is an instrgram photo of my pinning and sewing the curtain.

So bright and cheerful

I love home made laundry detergent - here is the recipe. It's in the clothes pin jar!! The small jar to the left has lost in the laundry items, and things that have taken a "spin."

The printables I purchased and some were free.

This is a fun pendant I bought at Lowe's to hang rather then the builders light!

The orange crates were purchased at Michael's with 40% off coupons and spray pained, they hold cleaning supplies.

You can see the shelf here

I'm was excited to have my laundry room reveal on Shanty 2 Chic on May 1st!!  I have followed Ashley and Whitney for a while now and I just love all their projects. They are super clever and doable which is most appealing!!  When Whitney and Ashley emailed and asked if I'd like to guest post I was wondering what in the world will I post, then it hit me, my new laundry room. I have been in the laundry room "redo" stages and this was the motivator I needed.

Chrissy, I LOVE it! You turned it into such a beautiful room. And, I really like the idea of spraying those crates and using them for supplies. I might need to do that in our basement and even in my sons room! Gorgeous curtains too. Nice job!

Yours doesn't look like a laundry room! Great job! Hopping from Serenity weekend bloggy reading.

I love everything about this room - the chevron pattern, the artworks, the touch of personality you've added to an otherwise boring place to work from! You did a great job Im so impressed :)

This is so cute and bright and fresh! I love it!! We just redid our laundry room as well... I used curtains to hide the washer and dryer because we have closed storage above it. Great job!!

Hi Chrissy, I found you over at It's Overflowing. What a great laundry room makeover! You did such a nice job making a little space feel bigger, brighter and cheery. I love that you found a way to keep the shelves, but cover them up. The chevron fabric is great. I also love the light fixture (I've eyed that one myself at Lowes) and most of all, the paint on the walls. It looks like a light blue-ish lavender. Is that about right? Or is it just the lighting that makes it look that way? Do you mind sharing the brand and color? Have a great day!

so cute! I esp love the rug and light. The crates are a super fun way to coral cleaning supplies, I might have to "borrow" that one for my garage shelves. :)

Gorgeous and so cheery Chrissie! I love the yellow chevron fabric and great idea to add a counter top to the top of your washer and dryer!

Beautiful! I love the board you have on top of the washer and dryer. I may just be doing this with mine! I love how it's less permanent than a counter-top. Pinned it!

Love the new and improved laundry room! I have those same shelves above my washer and dryer and have been wanting to hang a curtain to cover them up. What kind of hardware did you use to hang the curtain?

It's great! I just posted a new laundry room in my house this week. I hate doing laundry so it's very nice to at least have a laundry space I don't hate.

Oh yay! My laundry room is almost exactly this size too and I have been trying to figure out more storage and "cute-ness!" This is perfect! What is the board on top of the washer and dryer? I need one :-)

Chrissy, I love, love, love your laundry room! It is sooo cute and sunny! The chevron curtains are just adorable, and I am so lovin' that cute light pendant! You found such cute things to brighten up your "work" space! :) I have some shelves up high in my laundry room like you do and wish I could think of a way to add some cute curtains! It doesn't have a wall on one side d/t how the room is designed, but I could use a valance and add ribbon or such to it to hang them by. :) New project! :)

Beautiful! I love it. I have been going back and forth about using a curtain to cover the shelf or taking it down and adding cabinets. I may just go with the curtains because this looks great!

Fantastic job on the entire space! I have a tiny laundry room too so this is sooooo inspiring for me! How do you like the light? Is it enough light?

is the table top just sitting on top of the machines or are they mounted to something? thanks!
