Who's ready for football, tailgating, cool fall days and your jeans and boots?  Ready or not fall is coming albeit slow here in Atlanta, as everything is a little slower in the south.  But the past few days cooler weather has been here, well a little cooler.

Jean leggings are really popular for the fall.

it's the little things..........

Little things...........

My 1/2 pint binder with paint colors and swatches that I tote everywhere.
Major redecorating underway here in my house.

I actually made the divider pages and the "tabs" are made with paint samples!!  So fun!

A tree stump left in the ground after cutting two evergreens down that were taking over the front of our house.  The stump is so small but the trees were as tall as the house.  I'm so happy they are gone.

The stump is right in front of the double columns!!

Moss from my back yard planted in an apothecary jar.

Fresh pencils and colored pencils.  I decided to keep them out in the kitchen in jars for the taking!  You never know when the crafty or writing mood might strike.

Southern B.L.O.G.S. Weekend

 Hey Friends,

I think many of us Southern Bloggers feel like all our blog friends that we chat with follow and tweet with are north and west of the Mississippi.  Not only that, but they even get together for shopping trips and fun GNO events.

This is where this post come into play......It's a submission for a contest
to win a free ticket to Southern B.L.O.G.S.
Right here in my neck of the woods so to speak.

I would love the opportunity to meet bloggers this side of the Mississippi during a fun weekend with lots of laughs, learning and sharing and an ice cold Sweet Tea together.  I have attended one blogging event and it was so fun to meet those that I follow and put a names with faces and more importantly a real person with their personality.   My local friends know I blog and craft but they don't understand like those friends, the bloggers and crafters, I have connected with on line.  They get it and understand all about writing a post, photographing a craft step by step to share with others.  Connecting with friends with the same interests in bogging and sharing, the ins and outs, and sharing suggestions and tips on how we manage it all is icing on the cake or the slice of lemon in the Sweet Tea here in the south.
The make and take idea I have is for the weekend is a Vintage Tape Measure Bracelet.  I bought a cloth tape measure and made the bracelet photographed below as a gift for a fellow blogger Gina, who blogs at Hiya Luv and #setupshop and a blog we started together called Scatter Girls along with Lauren with The Elephants Trunk.   I met these talented ladies at the last blogging conference I attended. New friends made 1000 miles from home on line.

The bracelet is easy to make with limited supplies.  The tape measure is part of crafting whether you sew or cut wood, if the measurement's not correct the project won't come right.  I think it's something all creative minds will enjoy making and of course wearing.  You can also see I have plenty of yellow vintage tape measure to share with my new friends.

Voting opens September 10th - I'll send a reminder and I hope you vote for me!

Welcome Home

Last weekend we took two giant evergreens out that were planted in front of the columns on either side of our front door.  They were beautiful, 8 years old and huge.  But that was the problem, they were huge and we could not see out.
So we removed them and I'm so happy we did.

Now we can see out the door and I can actually plant something in the baskets hanging on the brick!!  Yippee

Now it's time to decorate for fall..........
